I always end up a large number of photographs I cannot use. This is one of them from Big Bend National Park – Little Christmas Mountain (4,828 feet) – a stack of volcanic flows from the Christmas Mountains calderas. The calderas formed on top of the main Christmas Mountains dome about 47 million years ago. Part of the dome can be seen behind Little Christmas Mountain.
